This is a reproduction of a contemporary Greek icon by N. Lionda of St. Philip the Apostle, who preached in Asia and Greece, killing a huge snake by his prayers in Hieropolis. The townsfolk crucified him and the Apostle Bartholomew upside down, but only Philip died.
This reproduction print is mounted on a wood plank, in the traditional style of the Christian East.
