The dalmatic is the traditional vestment worn by deacons in the Catholic Church. It consists of a robe with sleeves that may be open at the bottom. The deacon wears his stole underneath the dalmatic. The more traditional style of dalmatic has two bars of fabric across the front and back to distinguish it from the vestment worn by a subdeacon which typically had a single bar across.
Our dalmatics are either imported from England or Poland or hand-made in the United States.
