An amice is a rectangular piece of white fabric with two long strings attached to the upper corners. Clergy wear amices over their clerical shirts and beneath their albs and other vestments. Traditionally made of linen, an amice covers the neck and shoulders of the wearer. A small cross is embroidered in the center of the amice.
This liturgical garment is worn by Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox clergy as well as clergy in many Protestant denominations.
Aquinas and More only stocks quality amices from reputable makers; we do not carry amices or other church vestments made in China. We offer amices in a variety of fabrics and fabric blends.
