The challenges to Christianity by unbelievers, doubters and would-be believers continue. Only the Handbook of Christian Apologetics categorizes and summarizes all the major arguments for all the major Christian teachings. In addition you will find compelling refutations of the principal arguments against Christianity.
Reasonable, concise, witty and wise, Peter Kreeft and Ronald Tacelli have written an informative and valuable guidebook for anyone looking for answers to questions of faith and reason. Whether you are asking the questions yourself or want to respond to others who do, here is the resource you have been waiting for.
Peter Kreeft is professor of philosophy at Boston College and the author of many books related to the Christian faith, including Between Heaven and Hell, The Best Things in Life and a book of annotated selections from Thomas Aquinas, A Summa of the Summa.
Ronald K. Tacelli, S.J., is associate professor of philosophy at Boston Colege and has published articles in the Public Affairs Quarterly and the Downside Review.
Concise answers to complex objections
I picked up this book because I expected it to contain a concise defense of Catholicism. What I discovered is that this is not a book to use to discuss Catholic beliefs with Christians. As the title suggests, it is a handbook of Christian apologetics. Once I realized the purpose of the book I realized how valuable a resource it is.
Peter Kreeft and Ronald K. Tacelli have laid out a logical plan for Christian belief and they have done so in an amazingly organized way. Students of logic (and Aquinas) will appreciate the organizational beauty and brevity of the questions and answers in this work. Each chapter begins with a title, short introduction and definition of terms. Following is an explanation of the doctrine. This part is organized by argument using numbers and letters to distinguish different points.
My favorite part of the chapter is the objections section (with answers) after the explanations Full Review...
