About the author
Patrick Madrid is the publisher of Envoy Magazine, a journal of contemporary Catholic thought, and he is director of the Envoy Institute of Belmont Abbey College. Since its inception in 1996, the Envoy team has garnered numerous journalism awards, including several first-place awards in the magazine-of-the-year “General Excellence” category from the Catholic Press Association.
Patrick is the author of twelve books on Catholic themes including, Pope Fiction, Search and Rescue, Does the Bible Really Say That?, and 150 Bible Verses Every Catholic Should Know. He edited and co-authored the acclaimed multi-volume Surprised by Truth series (with over 400,000 combined copies in print in English and Spanish), and he has published numerous popular articles on Scripture, Church history, patristics, apologetics, and evangelization in various Catholic periodicals.
Active in apologetics since 1987, he served as vice president of Catholic Answers for eight years (1988 through 1995) and helped co-found that apostolate's flagship magazine, This Rock, in January of 1990.

150 Bible Verses Every Catholic Should Know is a book for any Catholic that wants to know more about the Bible and the Catholic Faith. Patrick Madrid has broken the book into chapters including such important topics as the Sacraments, the Communion of Saints and the sanctity of human life. Each chapter highlights about a dozen passages from Scripture and how they relate to the topic, our faith and our lives.

I was very excited to read this book as I have met Patrick Madrid in person (he came to our military installation in Seoul, South Korea) and loved hearing him speak. This book is not what I thought it would be. I was expecting 150 verses but Patrick provides us with 150 passages (much more than I anticipated). I was also expecting a work of apologetics but Patrick admits himself this is not the purpose - his hope is to introduce us to a wide variety of Scripture, provide verses that will answer questions Full Review...
