Simon (Silas, Simeon, Symon) [1st Century], APOSTLE. Nothing is known for certain about him. He may have been a member of the Zealot Party. Later stories say that he preached the Gospel in Egypt & Persia and that he was martyred in Persia with Saint Jude. His emblems are a fish, a saw (the instrument of his martyrdom), a boat and an oar. His feast is October 28 with St. Jude.
