(Juliana, Julia, Julie, Julian) [1751-1816]. Born in Cuvilly, France, this peasant girl suffered paralysis for thirty years. In 1804 she founded the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, and after her death other Sisters of Notre Dame communities also arose. Awareness of God characterized her apostolate of religious instruction. Julie constantly proclaimed "God is good!" She was canonized in 1969. Her feast is April 8.
