Isidore [died c. 1170] was born into poverty near Madrid and spent his whole life as a humble farm worker. He was very devout and attended daily Mass before work. It is said that angels plowed the fields so that he could pray. He gave what he could to the poor. He is Patron of Madrid, farmers, farm workers, laborers, kind neighbors and of dead children. His feast day is May 15
