Their Hearts Are His Garden – A Tiber River Review

Their Hearts Are His Garden
Their Hearts Are His Garden
The first thing I noticed when I received Their Hearts are His Garden was that it is absolutely aesthetically beautiful to behold.  It has a lovely green hardback cover, delicate gold lettering, and a full color image of Our Lord with the children centered on the front.  The pages are a heavier weight and an ivory color.  Everything about it speaks of beauty.  The only thing I was not happy with is that, upon first opening it, I heard a crack and it appeared that the glue had broken in the binding of one of the sections.  However, it’s being held in by the threading quite well and I doubt it will come out.
As for the material itself, the whole book is filled with short stories and sweet lessons that delight my children and gently introduce them to the truths and traditions of our faith in a way that they can relate to.  The author speaks to them in the text:  “When you were a tiny baby, God gave you to your mother and father.  Your mother and father love Him, and God gave you these parents because He loves you with a very great love.  He wanted you for his child.” (Pg. 4)  My children seem to especially love the lessons where Sr. Mary Marguerite speaks directly to them this way.  Their attention is held captive by the words as I read to them.
