L'Angelus – A Great Catholic Band

Ever since they came to our store last summer to give us a live concert, we've been huge fans of L'Angelus here at Aquinas and More. This band is made up of siblings from a big Catholic family in Louisiana, and they sing, play instruments, and even write some of their own songs. Read our post from when we first met these wonderful young Catholics.

Their first CD, Ca C'est Bon, became an instant hit, both with us and with our customers. We were thrilled when they came out with a beautiful Christmas album, O Night Divine, which was one of our most popular Christmas CDs this past Christmas. We're now very excited to announce that their next CD, Sacred Hymns, will be released on May 19. Selections on this album include favorites such as Panis Angelicus, Tantum Ergo, Sing of Mary, Be Thou My Vision, Holy God We Praise Thy Name, and more.

If you haven't yet heard this great band, don't wait. Their unique sound, inspired by their Cajun and Irish roots (and their Catholic faith!), is something you definitely shouldn't miss. They will be appearing on EWTN's “Life on the Rock” on May 28, which is a great chance to get to know L'Angelus and their music – so be sure to check it out!

There is a lot of music out there today that is questionable or inappropriate – or, on the other end of the spectrum, boring or unappealing to some younger people – so it's refreshing to have L'Angelus who gives us music that anyone in the family can enjoy at any age. Listen to some samples of their vibrant, fun music from their first two CDs here and here (scroll down to the track listings), and check back for samples from their new CD. We're confident that you will be as impressed by this Catholic family band as we continue to be. They are just fantastic people, singers, and musicians!

(And don't forget to watch them in the live call-in show on “Life on the Rock”, May 28!)
