How to Light Candles the Italian Way

Today we had a customer come in the store wanting to know if we sold tapers for lighting votive candles that had burned most of the way down.

Using  regular matches is out of the question unless you want to burn your fingers off or hold the candle upside and drip wax all over while you try and find the wick.

We do sell wax tapers that you can put in those long reach candle lighters for parishes but those come in bundles and you don't really need 100 for your house.

Our customer service manager has a novel, and very inexpensive, solution – light a piece of spaghetti! Of course you will want to use uncooked, unsauced spaghetti. We haven't done enough testing to see if the store brand is better than Berilla but we are sure that whatever your pasta pick it will cost less than fireplace matches, wax tapers or those BBQ lighters that break after two uses.
