He makes a great point; the early Church Fathers were especially good at converting the young people to Catholicism.
These days, we have quite a few young people leaving the Church, and we also have what some people would think of as the best youth-oriented programs in Church history! I don't really find it surprising, but I'm sure many people would, that given how we've created programs like Life Teen and changed certain parts of the liturgy, created an alternative genre of music, and also introduced things like electric guitars and drums into the Mass in order to be more appealing to the young people, and in the end history notes that a promise of a life of servitude to the Church is more effective.
