 General Description:

Published to coincide with Pope Benedict XVI’s “Year of St. Paul,” To Live Is Christ will energize Christians of all backgrounds to study the great Apostle once again.

It has been 2,000 years since St. Paul’s birth. Take the next 40 days to discover him once again—and allow what you learn to deepen your life for Christ.

This beautiful book—ideal for both study groups and personal use—illuminates eight special themes from the life and writings of St. Paul:

Themes from His Life

- A Converted Man
- Witness to the Nations
- Trials and Afflictions
- The Revelation of Jesus Christ

Themes from His Letters

-To Live is Christ, To Die is Gain
- The Greatest of These, Is Love
- The Fruit of the Spirit
- Witnessing to Jesus Christ in Our Lives

Forty daily reflections (5 for each theme) include introduction, scripture, relevant quotations and teachings from the saints, and questions for further reflection.

Also included are: A special 20-page opening section in which you will discover all of the major stages of St. Paul’s life and ministry; and a unique collection of “Prayers of St. Paul,” never before published in this format, and designed for easy memorization and application in your daily life.

Saul was a Jewish Talmudic student. Pharisee. Tent-maker by trade. Saul the Jew hated and persecuted Christians as heretical, even assisting at the stoning of Saint Stephen the First Martyr. On his way to Damascus to arrest another group of them, he was knocked off his horse and to the ground, struck blind by a heavenly light, and given the message that in persecuting Christians, he was persecuting Christ. The experience had a profound spiritual effect on him, causing his conversion to Christianity. He was baptized, changed his name to Paul to reflect his new persona, and began travelling, preaacing and writing. Author of much of the New Testament of the Sacred Scriptures and is often called the 13th Apostle. He was martyred by the sword in Rome.
