St. Margaret Clitherow was canonized in 1970 as one of the 40 Martyrs of England and Wales.  Here is the story of her life, her marriage, her motherhood, her personality, her assistance to her husband in his business, her devotion to the Eucharist and her staunch adherence to the Catholic Faith.  Containing great historical background on the Reformation in England, this tremendous true story and magnificent example for Catholics today explains clearly how the Cathlic Faith was ultimately lost in England under Elizabeth - a period when the people expected that at any time the official tide of religion would turn back to Catholicism under a new, Catholic ruler.  Instead, Elizabeth's reign was long, England was lost to the Faith, and the country never returned to its Catholic roots.  Despite this tragedy, England gave the world many courageous examples of Catholic faith-unto-death that will shine for all eternity.  And among these, the story of "the Pearl of York" ranks among the very highest.
