The Georgian Harmony Choir, conducted by Nana Peradze presents a selection of beautiful Georgian Byzantine chant from the ancient Christian country of Georgia, on the Black Sea.

From the same label that brought you Divna, the acclaimed Serbian liturgical singer, comes this beautiful CD of Georgian sacred polyphony performed by the mixed-voiced Georgian Harmony Choir. There is something extremely captivating and accessible about this CD, perhaps having to do with the clarity and purity of the voices and the elegance with which they sing the traditional sacred melodies of Georgia. Although presented here in a non-liturgical context, taken from a variety of feasts and services, the musical selections nevertheless recreate the thoroughly unique and hauntingly beautiful soundscape of Georgian sacred music. A highly recommeded, very enjoyable listening experience.
