 The Solemn Marriage Covenant reads:

"I come of my own free will to give myself to you in marriage I promise to honor and love you as my spouse for the rest of my life. I promise to be true to you in good times and in bad, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do us part. I promise to accept children from God lovingly and bring them up according to the law of Christ and His Church. I give you a ring as a sign of my love and fidelity in the name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. I ask the Lord in His goodness to strengthen our consent and fill us both with his blessings. I promise and agree that this solemn marriage and the promises made herein are to be observed according to the teaching and authority of the Holy Catholic Church."

 General Description:

     With archival pigmented ink to last a lifetime, this 11"x14" artistic creation, on handmade paper, pictorially represents True Marriage. Each custom-made Proclamation includes the date and location of the wedding, and the names of the bride, groom, best man, maid of honor and the presiding priest, with corresponding signature lines. (some witnesses omitted in anniversary version) The Proclamation restates the promises made by the bride and groom during the Catholic Rite of Marriage.     The couple recognizes, "that at the beginning the Creator 'made them male and female.' For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh" (Mat 19:5).
   

     This conviction is symbolized in the foundation of the Proclamation by the licensed reproduction of the painting of Adam and Eve in paradise, from the Museo de Navarra. The opposite corner includes the painting from the Sistine Chapel of Jesus giving the keys of the kingdom to Peter, reminding us that Christ started the Catholic Church. The written vows are encompassed by the "tree of life" rising towards heaven, upholding gold wedding bands that are the universal sign of love and fidelity. Two angels crest the scene as witnesses from heaven, ready and interceding for each couple.
    

    The Proclamation is enhanced by a signed agreement booklet that further describes promises embraced in every Catholic marriage. The civil law language and canon law language in the booklet was created by constitutional law professor, and founder of the True Marriage Project, Stephen Safranek. State Law requires every bride and groom to notify the government when they get married. Catholics, however, have established an abiding marriage, and this booklet expresses the couple's commitment to the endurance of their marriage.
