Francis and Clare - A New Feature Film

 

October brings the feast day of St. Francis on the 4th of the month and as we honor the great saint, Aquinas and More is thrilled to announce the release of a new feature film, telling the life stories and works of the two great saints from Assisi, Francis and Clare.
 
Francis and Clare is an informative and historically accurate film, but don’t think this is merely a documentary. This biopic is an epic feature film of the highest quality, shot on-location in Italy. Francis and Clare is a polished and professional film all the way around, from the wonderful portrayal by the actors in the title roles to the stunning cinematic features.
 
Clare and Francis tells the story of two citizens of Assisi who would go on to become dear friends and found major religious orders and impact the world centuries after their deaths. Francis was the son of a rich merchant, Clare a daughter of aristocracy. The families of both expected their children to follow into luxurious, worldly lives – God had something very different planned for the future saints.
 
The movie is yet another great Catholic film from Lux Vide, the amazing production company that brought you St. Rita, Saint John Bosco: Mission to Love, and the epic mini-series of the life of Pope John Paul II, for which Jon Voight was nominated for an Emmy. As with these other great movies from Lux Vide, Francis and Clare embodies the true spirit of piety and joy these beloved saints were known for and is at the same time an engaging and entertaining feature film. If you enjoyed the St. Rita or Saint John Bosco films, you are sure to love rediscovering the lives of St. Francis and St. Clare in this stunning film.
 
This DVD is also filled with special features, including a “making of Francis and Clare” featurette with Capuchin Franciscan Fr. Raniero Cantalamessa, Preacher to the Papal Household!
