This unique sterling silver oval Doctor/Surgeon medal has Sts. Cosmas and Damien on the front and the medical symbol on the back.  Measures 1in. x 3/4in.  The medal comes with an 24in. stainless chain in a gray velvet gift box. Call us about 22kt. gold-filled and 14kt. gold versions of this medal!

Engraving is not available with the medical symbol on the backside of this medal. If you wish to special order this medal with a blank back for engraving, contact us.

Feast Day: Eastern Calendar - 01/11 Roman Rite Calendar - 09/26 Tridentine Calendar - 09/26 Patron Of: Apothecaries, Barbers, Blind People, Chemical Industries, Doctors, Druggists, Hairstylists, Midwives, Pharmacists, Physicians, Surgeons Cosmas is the twin brother of Saint Damian. Physician who accepted no payment, charity which brought many to Christ. Martyr. The two suffered no injury during tortures. Many fables grew up about the brothers, connected in part with their relics. Died: martyred c.303 Damian is the twin brother of Saint Cosmas. Physician who accepted no payment which brought many to Christ. Martyr. Suffered no injury from water, fire, air, nor on the cross during their tortures.
