At a time when there is a serious duty to adapt the expression of the Faith to the multiform and changing language of a civilization in search of itself, it is important to transmit the message of Scripture by rooting oneself in the living thought of the Church.  The present book is inspired by the rhythm of Meditation-Action which permeates the life of a Christian who lives the faith.

The author has had extensive experience as a spiritual director for groups engaged in Catholic Action and the evangelical life.  his duties in a major seminary have enabled him to recognize some poles of theological thought and the spiritual life which insure solidness of faith as well as contemporary relevance.  His text is concerned with real experiences.  It facilitates the hearing of God's Word, which is spirit and life, and renders that word living and active.
