Frank J. Sheed, one of the most distinguished and popular Catholic writers of the twentieth century, is known as a champion of the faith. Frank Sheed (1897-1981), known for his sharp mind and clarity of expression, was one of the most famous Catholic apologists of the century. He is the author of numerous books, including the popular classics Theology and Sanity, A Map of Life, Theology for Beginners, and To Know Christ Jesus. In 1926, with his wife, Maisie, he founded the well-known Catholic publishing house of Sheed & Ward, which published some of the finest Catholic literature of the first half of the twentieth century.
