Profile

Born to the Roman nobility, son of Saint Felicitas; one of the Seven Holy Brothers. His father died when the boy was very young. Martyred at age seven along with his whole family in the persecutions of Emperor Antoninus.

In the 19th century there was a serious drought in the area of Torricella, Italy. One day, two men from the town were wandering through a nearby shop that specialized in statues of saints. The men fell to debating on what saint or beati could best intervene for the town to end the drought. One of the men's cape was suddenly caught on the extended arm of a statue of Marziale. They took this as a sign, and Marziale became the patron of Torricella.
