Profile
    Cornish prince, son of King Paternus. After a misspent youth, he did penance in Wales and Ireland, then evangelized the Scottish Picts with Saint Columbanus, for which he is especially honoured in Scotland. Abbot of a monastery at Govan. Two locations in Cornwall are named for him, and he is considered Scotland's first martyr.

    murdered in 598 by pirates who cut off his right arm and allowed him to bleed to death
