We read in the First Letter of St. Peter: In your hearts sanctify Christ as Lord. Always be ready to make your defense to anyone who demands from you an accounting for the hope that is in you. (3:15) The challenges that Christianity faces today call us to go back to the roots of our faith, to give an answer first to the questions we pose top ourselves, and second to the questions that others pose to us.
"This book, To Be a Christian in the Third Millennium, aims at giving such an answer. The Christian faith is summarized in the Creed which we proclaim at every Liturgy, and which goes back to the fourth century. We thought it would be meaningful to present our answer in the framework of this Creed." - Archbishop Bustros
