 General Description:

This striking icon of the Theotokos blessing was painted by Monk Michael from Karyes on Mount Athos in 1989. The Virgin is shown cradling her Son as He reaches up to touch her face with His blessed hand. On her forehead and shoulders are three stars to symbolize her virginity before, during, and after child-bearing.
