This oval St. Valentine's medal (1in. x 3/4in.) shows St. Valentine (of Rome) or (of Terni) standing by a tree stump with an axe as the symbol of his martyrdom.  St. Valentine was martyred because he gave aid to Christians awaiting martyrdom while in prison.  He is the patron of young people, engaged couples and happy marriages.  This medal comes on a 24in. stainless steel endless chain in a deluxe gift box.
