 Our Description

This statue depicts St. Mark the Evangelist standing with a book and a quill.  St. Mark, author of the earliest canonical Gospel, is the patron saint of glaziers, notaries and stained glass workers. The statue, crafted in pewter, measures 2 1/2in. tall and 3/4in. wide at the base.

Feast Day: Roman Rite Calendar - 04/25 Roman Rite Calendar - 06/18 Patron Of: Imprisoned, Philippines, Prisoners, Lawyers, Notaries, Glaziers, Stained Glass Workers, Barristers, Captives Profile Believed to be the young man who ran away when Jesus was arrested (Mark 14:51-52), and the "John whose other name was Mark" (Acts 12:25). Disciple of Saint Peter who travelled with him to Rome, and was referred to as "my son Mark" by the first Pope. Author of the earliest canonical Gospel. Travelled with his cousin Saint Barnabas, and with Saint Paul through Cyprus. Evangelized in Alexandria, established the Church there, and founded the first famous Christian school.
