 General Description:

This print is of a 16th c. Russian icon of the Resurrection. "This is the Chosen and Holy Day, the Feast of Feasts" the Pascha or Passover of Our Lord Jesus Christ from death to life. Christ stands over the broken gates of Hades, pulling out Adam and Eve. Two angels are shown bearing the Cross, Christ's weapon over death, with the angels and prophets looking on.
