No woman ever born has attracted more interest than Mary, the Mother of Jesus. True, the four gospels offer few details about her. In the New Testament she is overshadowed by her mighty son. Yet for almost two thousand years, Christians have cherished her memory.
Why are we drawn to her? Because there was no one closer to Jesus Christ. From his conception and birth, through the greater part of his life, till the days of his death and resurrection, the lives of Son and Mother were bound together. Why would we not wish to know and honor her?
