I Wait For You is a selection of some of the most poignant passages of Our Lord's words taken from the immensely popular book, The Way of Divine Love - a book in which are found the revelations of Jesus about the mysteries of God's love for man, as given by Him to Sister Josefa Menendez (1890-1923), a Spanish nun who lived in a convent in Poitiers, France. Over a period of years, Our Lord appeared to her many, many times to tell her of His burning love for souls and how, for the most part, His love and His grace are just ignored by mankind. Pleading for a return of that love, He showed Sister Josefa how the little sacrifices we can make, when done out of love and consecrated to Him, actually gain merit for the salvation of souls who would otherwise be lost eternally.
The message of I Wait for You, like that of The Way of Divine Love, is meant for all souls; it requires nothing extraordinary. What Our Lord desires above all else is our love and regard for Him. Especially does He lament man's indifference to His Presence in the Blessed Sacrament, where He waits for us night and day, ready to give us the graces we need for our lives - yet people in general just ignore Him. I Wait for You will open the eyes of modern readers to the Heart of our Saviour and to the precious graces and mercies he longs to give.
