 Our Description

Our Beeswax candles are naturally beautiful and fragrant, and they are also good for your health!  They actually purify the air, whereas paraffin candles (the most common and cheapest type of candles, made from crude oil sludge), actually pollute the air!  We want the products we sell to be a blessing for others, not just a commodity that might even be harmful.  So we offer items that are in harmony with God's good creation, like these beeswax candles (wax made of God's little bees; candles made by God's little monks).  We even use lead-free wicks made fo natural fibers.  Because beeswax is a natural product that takes much care to gather and process, it casts a little more.  But we think that you'll be much happier with the purity and sweetness of our all-natural candles-and you'll be supporting our life of prayer and intercession at the same time.  --The Monks of Mt. These candles are sold by the pound.  Each pound is approx. 16-18 candles.  Each candle burns for 3-4 hours.

 General Description:

Mt. Tabor is a Byzantine-rite Ukranian Catholic monastery, tucked away in the mountains of the California Coastal Range.  In continuity with the Eastern tradition stemming from Egyptian and Palestinian deserts and Byzantine monasticism, Mt. Tabor is basically a contemplative monastery.  That is, our main work and ministry is that of praise, worship, and fervent intercession.  Thus the monastic life meets a critical need in today's Church for a radical witness to the truth and power of the Gospel, and for a firm foundation of unceasing prayer and sacrifice.  PRayer and contemplative life are not a running away from reality, but rather a running into Reality, to help transform the world according to God's original vision.  At Mt.
