 Our Description

Christ seeks the lost sheep even if He must leave his flock and go out to find what has wandered away from the others in His fold.  We too are lost and have wandered from the safety of the enclosure of God's Holy Commandments,  especially to love God above all things and our neighbor as ourself.  In this modern Greek icon, we see the Lord Jesus Christ as the Good Shepherd, who truly loves His sheep and so when we do not follow His voice, He comes out to save us, for His Name Jesus (or Yehoshua in Hebrew, transliterated Joshua in modern English) means "He who saves His people."  As we gaze at this holy icon, may we behold the Heavenly Realms which are made apparent as we look with love and faith to the Risen Lord.  May we see through the medium presented here Christ reaching out towards us to change our lives.
