Drawing on Pope John Paul II's Theology of the Body, author and video host Christopher West shares God's original plan for marriage and sexuality and how an understanding of this plan gives profound meaning to all our lives—married, single, and consecrated celibates.
The Theology of the Body has been called "one of the boldest reconfiguration of Catholic theology in centuries," according to the pope's biographer, George Weigel. It addresses some of the most fundamental and important questions of human existence, including:
Why were we created male and female?
Where do we come from and why?
What is the meaning of life? How do we experience it?
Why is there evil in the world and how do we overcome it?
This eight talk Created and Redeemed series is an expanded version of our first series, Introduction to the Theology of the Body. It is a perfect follow-up to the initial series, but is also suitable as an introductory series. Created and Redeemed can be used in adult faith formation classes, RCIA, Pre-Cana classes, home study groups, high school religion classes, or personal use.
CHRISTOPHER WEST is a visiting lecturer at St. John Vianney Seminary in Denver, an adjunct professor of the Institute of Priestly Formation in Omaha, and a visiting professor of the John Paul II Institute for Studies on Manage and Family in Melbourne Australia. His books (Good News About Sex & Marriage and Theology of the Body Explained), extensive lecturing, and numerous tapes have sparked an international groundswell of interest in John Paul II's theology of the body. He and his wife, Wendy, have three children.
