Exercising his supreme teaching office, the Vicar of Christ, Pope John Paul II, throughout his pontificate, has proclaimed forcefully the unchanging, saving truths of the "source and summit" of our Faith- the Eucharist. And at a time when millions don't know or even reject the Church's teaching on the Eucharist; the Pope's proclamation of the "Year of the Eucharist" couldn't be more necessary or urgent. The Pontiff believes that faithful celebration of Sunday Mass, and especially Eucharistic Adoration outside of Mass, will "witness with greater force the presence of God in the world." He's asking you and me "not to be afraid to speak of God" and to be proud to show the world "the signs of the faith."
