This round sterling medal depicts St. Monica sitting on a log and holding a book and pilgrim's staff.  Her feast day is August 27th.  The medal is 3/4in. in diameter and comes on a 20in. stainless steel chain with clasp in a maroon velvet gift box.

Mother of two, one of whom is Saint Augustine of Hippo whose writings about her are the primary source of our information about Monica. She prayed constantly for the conversion of her husband (who converted on his death bed), and of her son (who converted after a wild life). Spiritual student of Saint Ambrose of Milan. Reformed alcoholic.
