 Our Description

This presentation is available on 3 CD's.

Martin Luther is back in the news. The disgruntled Augustinian monk who set 16th century Europe ablaze with religious war by instigating the Protestant Reformation is the subject of a controversial new film that has people asking some tough questions: Who was Martin Luther really? What did Luther actually teach? What are the true results of Luther's violent revolt against the Catholic Church and how do they impact your life and faith today?

THEOLOGICAL WRECKAGE

In the brilliant new audio series from St Joseph Communications, Luther: The Rest of the Story, Ken Hensley tackles these questions and many more in an uncompromisingly Catholic presentation on the true teachings of the man who changed the face of Christianity.

A former Protestant Pastor, Hensley brings a unique perspective to the critical examination of a man whose doctrines he once held with great devotion. As you listen to his in-depth analysis on three digitally mastered CDs or cassettes, you'll discover Luther's theological, personal and historical background and motivations, from the testimony of his own writings. And follow the tangled web woven by the "Father of the Reformation" from the day he nailed his infamous 95 theses on the door of the Castle Church at Wittenberg to the theological wreckage of modern Protestantism.

INTELLIGENT AND ENTERTAINING

However, this is no inflammatory "tell-all" expose but an intelligent (and entertaining) investigation into the real-life convictions and contradictions of this controversial figure. Here at last is a serious discussion of Luther from a Catholic perspective that's insightful, informative and, best of all, suitable to share with Protestant (and fallen-away Catholic) friends and family.

Whatever your opinion of Luther and his religious revolt, you owe it to yourself to discover the surprising truth about his actual teachings and his little-known devotion to much that has been rejected by his spiritual descendants. With Ken Hensley's perceptive presentation and analysis, Luther: The Rest of the Story will equip you to effectively defend Catholic Truth, but also to better understand the reality of many important theological and historical misconceptions. Get ready - it's time to set the record straight!

  • WHAT LUTHER'S REAL TEACHINGS WERE IN HIS OWN WORDS

This item received 5 stars overall. A Former Lutheran Tells the Real Story of the Reformation

Luther: The Rest of the Story is an excellent presentation about Martin Luther and his theology.  Ken Hensley masterfully explains the events in Luther's life that led to his unprecedented new interpretation of Scripture and the disastrous effects that the dogmas Sola Scriptura and Sola Fidei had on Christianity and the world.

He tells the story of Luther's troubled upbringing and heavy discipline he received from his parents.  Using Luther's own accounts, Hensley shows how the image of God as judge that Luther developed mirrored the image he had of his father.  The theological idea that man is so wretched that he can never be made worthy in the eyes of God stemmed from his inability to please his father.  Hensley also balances this interpretation with the real problems facing the Church 500 years ago.  He tells the disurbing story of how Luther was sent to Rome as a monk.  When he arrived there he found nothing but de Full Review...
