Kevin [died c. 618], founder and abbot of Glenalough and one of the patron saints of Dublin. There are many legends about him. It is said that an otter brought him salmon to feed his community and that a blackbird laid an egg in his hand, outstretched in prayer. He received his bell from Ciaran of Conmacnoise whom he visited before his death. It is reputed that Kevin died at the age of 120. His feast is June 3.
