 General Description:

Gabriele Arnorth

In this powerful new audio book, An Exorcist Tells His Story, Fr. Gabriele Amorth, the renowned chief exorcist of Rome, tells of his many experiences in his ministry as an exorcist doing battle with Satan to relieve the great suffering of many people in the grip of evil. The importance of this ministry to “expel demons” is clearly seen from the Gospels, from the actions of the Apostles, and from Church history.

In this rare and exciting account, Father Amorth allows us to witness the activities of the exorcist, and experience what an exorcist sees and does. He shows how real and powerful the devil is and how his wicked and evil influence is so prevalent today in many people’s lives. He also reveals how modern science, psychology and medicine can do little to help those under Satan’s influence and that only the power of Christ can release them from their mental, spiritual or physical suffering.

Now available as an audiobook for the first time,An Exorcist Tells His Story, has been a European and American best-seller that has gone through numerous printings and editions. No other book today so thoroughly and concisely discusses the topic of exorcism.

This item received 5 stars overall. An elucidating look at the battle that surrounds us all

This is a review for the audio CD version of An Exorcist Tells His Story, hence the reading level refers more to the maturity of the reader than the technical reading ability. If my experience and that of many of my Catholic friends and family members are any indication, I would say that most Catholics have, at best, a very sketchy idea of diabolical activity.

Fr. Amorth has done us a great service by writing this book. In it, he explains the different extraordinary ways demons can intrude into our lives. He delineates the differences between diabolic obsession, oppression, possession and infestation and gives examples from his own extensive experience.  He carefully clarifies what an exorcist is and is not, how a priest becomes a designated exorcist and also emphasizes that this power is bestowed upon all priests by virtue of their ordination.
