After a long absence, HMH Regina has returned to crafting the finest Catholic medals and devotional items avaiable today. This St. Christopher Marine Corps medal is one example of their expertise in quality and design.

HMH was the premier manufacturer of Catholic medals from 1910 to 1962 when Vatican II changed the religious goods industry. Regina, whose origins date back to the 1940's, has an inventory of well over 1500 beautiful designs, 90% of which have not been produced for decades.  Regina is also known for the most intricate designs and the largest selection of rosary crucifixes and centers.

The magnificent designs of these medals were hand sculpted by master die makers in the early 1900's.  The true craftmanship of these artisans is almost a lost art and can not be replicated at the present time.

HMH will continue to manufacture these medals, as well as their other products, with the utmost attention to detail.  HMH will provide their customers with the "Finest Devotional Heirlooms" along with the venerable Catholic history in these resurrected masterpieces.

Profile
Third century martyr in the persecutions of Decius. Little else is known for sure.

His fame derives from the pious legend of him being a "Christ-bearer" (= Christopher). He was a powerfully built man who wandered the world in search of novelty and adventure. He came upon a hermit who lived beside a dangerous stream and served others by guiding them to safe places to cross. He gave Offero instruction in the truth of God. Offero took the hermit's place, but instead of guiding travelers, he carried them safely across the stream.

One day he carried a small child across the stream; the child's weight nearly crushed him. When they arrived on the other side, the child revealed himself as Christ, and he was so heavy because he bore the weight of the world on himself. He then baptized Offero with water from the stream. Christopher's service at the stream led to his patronage of things related to travel and travelers, people who carry things, etc. One of the Fourteen Holy Helpers.

    at Canaan as Offero
