 General Description:

Mary's Fiat is a scripture-based novena that traces the pattern of our Lady's continuing "yes" to the Lord in every circumstance of life. It may be used either privately or communally.

As a new form of Marian novena, with its unique daily litanies of praise, Mary's Fiat is especially suitable for use in parishes, prayer groups, or religious communities during the months of May and October. The novena's flexible format and length lend themselves to a prayer form that can be used prior to nine successive Masses or as a special evening devotion. Homebound or hospitalized persons will also find in Mary's Fiat a help to their personal prayer lives.

Sara O'Malley, OSB, holds an M.A. in theology from St. John's University, Collegeville, Minnesota. She is the director of ministry of care at St. Thomas the Apostle parish in Phoenix, Arizona. Her first book, Age and Grace, published in 1980, was co-authored with Bill Fourneir, OMI.

Robert Eimer, OMI, published his first book, Tilted Haloes, in 1964. He has served as pastor in St. Paul and Duluth, Minnesota. Currently he is the pilgrimage director at Our Lady of the Snows Shrine, Belleville, Illinois.
