This item received 4 stars overall. Homer meant the audience to enjoy his stories and Fagles allows you to be swept away in the story

The story of the Iliad, is the story of the Ancient warrior, Achilles, in the 9th of the 10 years' long Trojan War.  The Iliad doesn't even take us to the end of the Trojan War.  It is a classic that should be read by every citizen  who has a say in governement and every teen and adult who has a say in another's life.  It's a classic tale at the head of classic tales.
So it's important.  Next I need to know which translation to teach and how to teach it.  This book uses Fagle's translation.  Mr. Fagle translated this from the greek language and did a wonderful job.
