St. Benedict Crucifixes

A St. Benedict Crucifix is a combination of two separate Catholic sacramentals: a crucifix and the official Medal of St. Benedict. The crucifix is a common Christian symbol most used by Catholics. It depicts Christ either still alive or dead on a cross.

The Medal of St. Benedict was made in its current form in 1880. This medal was based on a design 400 years older. The medal features St. Benedict on the front and a cross on the back.
