Celtic Cross SKU 4867Our Celtic Cross (Cheilteach)  necklaces are modeled on the ancient high crosses which were massive standing stone crosses often, but not always, placed in cemeteries in the British Isles, mostly in Ireland.   These ringed crosses began to appear in the 8th century and have become a popular symbol of Irish Catholicism and identity, though they had been used by pagans in Ireland before the Christians adopted them for their own use.  Some see the ring as representing the infinite love of Christ who died on the cross.  Our selection includes Celtic Pewter Crosses, Sterling Silver Celtic Crosses as well as a variety of gold plated and and 14K-gold Celtic Crosses.  All of our precious metal Celtic Crosses have a life-time guarantee.
