What Is a Sterling Filled Medal? What's a Sterling FIlled medal? Sterling Silver Filled (sometimes referred to as "1/20 silver filled") is a strip of sterling silver that is bonded to a base medal. It must be at least 1/20 sterling silver content of the total weight of the medal. It looks the same and wears the same as pure Sterling Silver. Sterling Silver Filled is not silver plating. It's a great durable process that costs only a fraction of a sterling silver medal.
